My Secret Weapon

I have a confession to make.

I haven't posted at all regarding my wedding hair. It's not because I don't care about it, it's because I have an ace in my back pocket. With that comfort, I just plain haven't thought about it.

See this hair?

It was all styled by my MOH. Yes, my best friend is a professional stylist. This is not to say that I walk around with bomb-looking hair all the time, it just means that I get some A-list treatment on my wedding day. We were suppose to do a hair-trial when I spent last weekend in LA (which I meant to show you), but we were pressed for time and you know what, I just trust that we'll make it work.

We're doing something with a bang, choppy just above the eyebrows and tapering down, and some sort of mid/up-do in the back since I'd like my veil to come from underneath, not on top of my head. We may do a hair change when I change into my reception dress, but we'll leave that up to timing.

I'm so excited to see how it comes together! With a moniker like 'barrettes' I feel responsible for having cute wedding hair! I even found a sweet pair of orange barrettes that look like my icon =)

Did you have a secret weapon? Did that let you rest easy, or were you more anxious about it?

Gifting our Wedding Party--it all Comes Together!

Hi there Hive! We're down to 2 days before we head to Napa again, and 4 days away from the Big Day! I've been running around like a mad-woman, getting together the gifts for our wedding party, which I will spend a better part of this afternoon wrapping.

The only gifts not included in this post are the ones for my MOH and Mr. Barrettes. Later. Promise.

*Squee* Purple Satin Shoes!

My shoes finally came in the mail! I've been dying to show them to you since I stumbled upon them online a few months ago.

Aren't they pretty? Badgley Mishka Randall in Purple Satin.

Oh, that box got ripped open.
 Shoe bag.
 Hello pretties!
Happy feet! (yes, vein-y, i know)

I'm going to wear them around the house for 30 minutes each day until the wedding to break them in. I don't want blisters on my wedding day! They look a bit blue in the photos, but I swear they're a pretty shade of purple.

My shoes arrived 8 days before the wedding. Anyone else receive important details at the last minute?
